The A3 actions<\/strong> outlined in the Life Drylands project involve developing training sessions for the staff of the three partner parks<\/strong> to support the implementation of actions C (restorative and improvement interventions for target habitats and selective removal of alien species) and D (monitoring).<\/span><\/p>\n

The training for each park has been structured in two stages:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. a first day with theoretical aspects and practical activities, conducted online due to the ongoing health emergency;<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. a second day of site visits to the intervention areas, which will take place in the coming months, between June and July.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/<\/span><\/p>\n

    Ideas Emerged<\/strong><\/p>\n

    During the three online training days, we actively involved participants in a workshop. The various working groups were asked to design a guided tour<\/strong> focusing on one of the project’s target habitats<\/strong> (heathlands, Corynephores, arid grasslands) and the theme, “Habitat conservation is important because habitats maintain ecosystem balance<\/em>“. The guided tour was aimed at one of four target audiences<\/strong>: an association of nature photography enthusiasts; families with children aged 6-10; adolescents aged 16-20; and retirees over 75.<\/p>\n

    Some numbers<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A total of 66 people from the three project partner parks participated in the online meetings: park rangers, educators, technicians, researchers, undergraduates, doctoral students, and young people participating in the Civil Service. Specifically, 24 people attended the training day for Ticino Lago Maggiore Park staff, 26 for the day for Ticino Park staff, and 16 for the day with Po Piemontese Park staff.<\/p>\n
