\ud83e\udd29 Lichen monitoring in the Lombardy Ticino Valley Park’s grasslands and heathlands yielded positive results: Cladonia portentosa<\/em><\/strong>, a rare ground lichen protected under the Habitats Directive, was discovered at Ansa di Castelnovate grasslands.<\/p>\n

As part of our research, in the fall of 2023, we planted material gathered from a nearby site in Piedmontese Ticino Valley Park to build Habitat 2330 (“Inland dunes with open Corynephorus<\/em> and Agrostis<\/em> grasslands”).<\/p>\n

The material clearly contained propagules of this species, which, based on observations, appears to have established itself very well after finding a favorable environment following the interventions that significantly improved the quality of the grasslands at the site, and is now present with numerous well-developed individuals.<\/p>\n
